Petite Odile-Marie is the first doll in The Swan Lake Collection, debuting in an adorable 12" size!
Whether you're a young ballerina, a ballet enthusiast, or a doll collector, you'll fall in love with the Petite Odile-Marie doll!
The leading lady from Mark Erickson's unique version of The Nutcracker takes on a new role in this fully-articulated poseable12" doll. Marie, star of The Nutcracker Collection, now dons a black tutu to play Odile!
Odile is the villainess in Swan Lake, the most famous of all time. Known as The Black Swan, she is the daughter of the evil Baron von Rothbart, a sorcerer who transformed leading lady Odette into a Swan Queen, aka The White Swan. Disguised as Odette to deceive Prince Siegfried, Odile wears this striking black costume at Siegfried's ball in Act III of the ballet.
Petite Marie is as lovely as ever playing Odile, with a fair complexion, long, wavy auburn hair with bangs, and big blue eyes. Her face is lightly made-up, and she has a young girl's figure.
The same beautiful doll, just in a smaller size!
Petite dolls look younger than full-sized MBDs, with thinner bodies, more youthful faces, and shorter skirts. You could describe their faces as cute rather than beautiful, like the bigger girls. They also are much less expensive than their big sisters. Selling at a quarter of the price of full-sized Ballerina Dolls, Petites fit into any budget!
The smaller size also makes them the perfect choice for younger children. Little hands will have an easier time handling the foot-tall doll, and the smaller price tag will ease your worries about an expensive toy getting damaged!
Marie Petite is ready to entrance any prince in Odile's dynamic Black Swan Dress.
Odile's Black Swan costume is intricately made, just like its 21" counterpart. It is black with shiny gold flecks. The bodice has a V-neckline. The sleeves are long with gold trim and flared black tulle at the edge. The long, flared skirt is made of black tulle. The top of it is decorated with the bodice's gold-flecked material. It's trimmed in feather-like patterns with iridescent gold sequins. She wears a matching black and gold fabric headpiece, shaped like wings. White cotton panties keep her modest while dancing. Her pink satin Ballet Boots, which lace up in the front, combine the ballet aesthetic of pointe shoes with the warmth and durability of Victorian boots.
Like all our dolls, Petite Odile-Marie is crafted for beauty today and durability tomorrow.
Her skin looks like fine porcelain, but it is actually vinyl, which won't chip from normal play patterns.
Her hair is long, silky, and easily styleable. It is embedded, but she has a removable headcap so you can conveniently give Odile-Marie a new look by attaching a different wig or replacing her eyes.
Her fully articulated, hard plastic body makes her more than just a toy. Her intricately formed joints mimic the human body's design, so she moves and poses just like a real ballet dancer.
Her costume has a Velcro closure at the back, so she can be easily undressed. The costumes for all Petite MBDs are interchangeable, so you can collect more ballet costumes for your doll. Petite Odile-Marie will also fit in clothes made for 12" Ball Jointed Dolls.
Collectors love My Ballerina Dolls, but Petite Odile-Marie wasn't made exclusively for a display case. All our dolls are sturdy enough to be lovingly played with by children of all ages.
